FAA – KARTING TEAM (SENIORS) 2019 GASF CUP & «Akhmat CUP»

By official invitations of «Ahmad» Racing Club (the Chechen Republic) and Georgian Automobile Sport Federation (GASF), Karting Club of the Automobile Federation of Armenia (FAA) visited Georgia for participation in two tournaments undertaken by «RUSTAVI» International Motorpark: «2019 Karting CUP of Georgian Automobile Sport Federation» and «Akhamat CUP».

On January 31st, 2019 Armenian delegation visited Georgia as follows:

  1. Stepan MARTIROSYAN – Head of the Deligation, Chairman of the Referee’s Committee, II grade referee
  2. Andranik HARUTYUNYAN – technical officer

Sportsmen:

  1. Robert MELKONYAN – PILOT
  2. Artak HARUTYUNYAN – PILOT
  3. Artur HARUTYUNYAN – PILOT
  4. Karen SARGSYAN – PILOT

FAA team participated in «ROTAX Max» category.

On the 1st of February has been held the training of all the teams and on the 2nd of February took place the «Akhamat CUP» tournament, named after the first President of the Chechen Republic, Mr. Akhmat Kadyrov. Besides the Armenian side in the tournament took part representatives of the Georgian Automobile Sport Federation (GASF), Karting Federation of Russia, as well as the «KUBAN  Racing Team» of Krasnodar Club. In the joint category of «Akhamat CUP» Artak HARUTYUNYAN has won III place riding ROTAX Max 125 CC type kart.

The next day, on February 3rd open Georgian championship on Karting took place in following categories: Mini, Super Mini, OK-Junior, OK, KZ2, Rotax Max, Rotax Max Junior, Rotax Micro, Rotax Mini and DD2, where our sportsmen – Artak HARUTYUNYAN, Artur HARUTYUNYAN and Karen SARGSYAN have won I, II and III places correspondingly.

FAA expresses its special gratitude to Andranik HARUTYUNYAN by whose efforts it became possible to ensure the qualitative technical condition of the karts.
